What is the Student Hook-ups Card?
It's a Discount Card for
University, College and ESL students. Basically you get a boat load of
free things, discounted products and services, special deals and
contests that only you can enter - Buy your card
NOW.
What does it cost?
$20.00 Canadian. The fact that the
card is in Canadian bucks makes it a real steal and an even better deal!
When can I use it?
From the day you activate it right
up until it Expires (see the expiry date on the back of the card).
A few little things...

Some places might only let you
use it once per day, but if they’ve got another store someplace
else, go there!

The freebies are amazing,
the discounts are cool and the cards are ever so cheap... so if
you start sharing it around with your buddies, the price will
have to go up. Tell your friends to get their own card.

Restaurants and Bars will only
allow you to purchase one discounted drink at a time, some places
let you do more but that is their choice and probably because the
boss isn't around. If you’ve got a problem with that, remember the
days (before the Student Hookups Card) when you had to pay full
price!
Are these deals for real?
YES…
People sometimes wonder
because you don’t normally see stores giving stuff away or giving
such lovely discounts on their services or merchandise.
On occasion new or untrained
staff won't believe the deals either ... don't create a big fuss ...
just take down the name and address of the store, the name of the
clerk and email us. We'll take care of the rest. Relax!
Did you have to kill someone to get these deals?
No but then we are real fast talkers, and we did have to twist
some arms and make a few Threatening gestures. In the end all the
merchants were only too happy to participate in our program. We used
to think that only people from Newfoundland were good bargain
hunters ... turned out that some bargain hunting talents rubbed off
on us. Count your blessings!
We hope that all the free stuff and great deals will have you coming
back year after year to purchase our card. Our merchant partners
hope that you will like their stuff so much you will come back even
when they aren't giving away their stuff for free!

I just know there's a catch!
Oh dear, you CAUGHT US! You've got to part with $20 Canadian
Bucks (which is a deal all by itself). The card expires after
approximately a year (see the date on the back). Some merchants will
ask for your student ID. Can't think of any thing else. Buy it and
find out.
The whole idea of the card is based on good marketing strategies
(marketing students pay attention). The merchants give YOU good
deals and YOU become a new client ... sometimes for a few months,
other times for life. Not a bad exchange!
Where can I use it?
Right now you can use your Student Hookups Card in the lower
mainland of BC - this includes Vancouver and the surrounding areas.
All the participating merchants are listed on your "drop-down" card,
or on our website. We are in the process of rapidly expanding and
will keep you informed (if you activate your card) whenever new
merchants sign up with new deals.
When does it expire?
That depends on when you buy it. Your card is good for
approximately a year. Check out the expiry date sticker on the back.
It will be April 30 or August 31 or December 31. The sooner in the
season you buy it, the more money you will save!
If you (or your buddies) peel off the sticker, the card becomes
invalid... so just get another card when it expires - they are
cheap!
Why do I have to register?
Cause we said so! All kidding aside, you want to register so we
can keep you informed about new deals. We are out there making deals
all the time and you don't want to miss out. Additionally, when you
activate your card, you are automatically entered into some of our
contests. If you don't activate your card, you can't win!
How do I get one?

Get your card online - We will take Visa,
Mastercard and others OR you can pay though your PayPal account.
Check with your Student Association to see if they stock Student Hookups Cards in their office.
Student Groups who put on special fund-raisers throughout the
year will offer the Student Hookups Cards if they are smart. They
will make a bit of cash from selling the card, and YOU will save a
whole lot of cash when you buy the card.
Are there more deals coming?
We are always trying to make the card better. more free stuff,
more discounts, more deals, more of everything ... loads of contests
to win. Be sure to activate
your card and we'll email you with all the latest and greatest so
you don't miss out on a thing!
What's Second Stream?
Your "plastic" card automatically (when you activate your
membership) enrols you into the Second Stream group of companies.
The participating merchants offer free, value added and discounted
deals. You will not have to show your student ID with any of the
Second Stream partner merchants.
What happens if I lose my card?
Our advice? DON'T!
If you lose your "plastic" membership card, fill out the contact
form and tell us what happened ... we will issue a replacement card
for $10. Frankly you are better off buying another card because then
you'll get another "drop-down" card with more free stuff.
If you lose your "drop-down" card, you are totally out of luck. Be
more careful next time.
